The latest on the course of the coronavirus pandemic in Greece according to the weekly report of the EODY
The new cases of coronavirus in Greece amount to 36,146, according to the weekly reference report of the EODY.
The new deaths reached 111, while 82 patients are intubated.

In the reporting week, 36,146 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (3,465 per million population: 7% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 24% of infections. The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 4,875,215 of which 52.0% are women.
𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.91.
The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 818 patients (7-month period: 117, 4% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounted to 754 patients (7-month period: 108, – 13% weekly change).
The number of intubated patients by the end of the reference week is 82 (64.6% men) with a median age of 70 years and 96.3% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.
In the reporting week, 111 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (11 per million population: -14% weekly change) of which 25 (23%) died after at least 29 days from the date of laboratory confirmation of the COVID-19 infection, while since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 33,010 deaths have been recorded, with 96.0% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
Samples tested: In the reporting week, the positivity rate was 5.87% of a total of 616,288 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) with a seven-day average of 88,041 samples (6% weekly change).
From January 1, 2020 to September 18, 2022, in the laboratories that carry out tests for SARS-CoV-2 and that systematically declare all the samples they test, a total of 12,518,348 have been tested (7-month AD: 9,315, 2% weekly change) clinical samples while 80,960,150 samples have been tested by Health Units and Levels of the EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests (7-month AD: 78,726, 7% weekly change).
EODY Mass Sampling: In the reporting week, 916 sample control actions were carried out by the EODY Mobile Health Teams (COMY), in which 50,628 Rapid Ag tests were carried out and 5,837 were found positive (12%).
