A truly incredible incident happened on Friday morning in the Courts of Chania.
In the presence of citizens in the area near the stairs leading to the Court of First Instance, a man with his face covered, attacked a well-known Chaniot lawyer holding a knife.
The man approached the lawyer from behind and after saying a sentence, hit him with sharp object in the neck causing him a hack and then he ran away
The lawyer went to the Chania Hospital for first aid and luckily he is not facing any problem with his healthbut the incident has caused a stir.
The president of the Chania Bar Association, Christos Pramateutakis, speaking to Flashnews.gr, spoke of an unprecedented incident, unacceptable and reprehensible.
As he characteristically said, “it is a criminal act as hitting a colleague in the neck with a sharp object could be fatal.
The lawyer who was attacked is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chania Bar Association and a colleague who serves justice with courage and humility.”
