He was arrested, in Peristeri, by police officers of the Property Crimes Prosecution Department of the Attica Security Directorate, 41 years old who is charged with robbery in progress and violation of the Arms Act.
According to ELAS, the 41-year-old, shortly before his arrest, with his features covered person, broke into a bank branch, in the area of ​​Kolonos, and with the threat of a gun removed a sum of money from the cash register.
The accused had been identified by the Police as the perpetrator of armed robberies in bank and EL.TA stores, in various areas of Attica. It is noted that a special police team was set up to locate and arrest him.
The 41-year-old he broke into bank branches using, as the case may be, a hat, surgical mask, sunglasses, helmet, hood, and after immobilizing the employees, at gunpoint, took the money from the cash registers. In some cases, in fact, he requested that the sum of money be handed over to him after placing it in an envelope. Immediately after, he forced an employee to open the double security door of the main entrance, through which he escaped.
In a search carried out at his house and on the motorcycle he used as a means of escape, the following were found and confiscated: An air pistol, the sum of 7,960 euros, a cloth protective mask, sunglasses and a number of clothes that he used during the commission of the robberies.
So far, 5 cases of robbery at bank branches and one at a post office have been solved.
The arrested person was taken to the criminal prosecutor of Athens, while the police investigation continues.
