The Athens Democracy Award will be awarded by the mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, to the President Volodymyr Zelensky and the people of Ukraine, tonight, Wednesday, at 8 p.m., at Zappeio Megaro.
The award ceremony will take place within the Athens Democracy Forum international conference, organized by the Democracy & Culture Foundation in collaboration with the New York Times.
The proceedings of the conference entitled “Ten years of Democracy and now what”, will be held at the Zappeion Megaron, the Attalus Gallery and the Athens Academy, from today, Wednesday, September 28 to Friday, September 30.
Among the main speakers of the conference, this year, will be the former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
