Martha Karagianni: Her ashes were scattered in the sea

Ten days after her death, the ashes of the beloved actress Martha Karagiannis scattered in the sea, as informed by her psychiatrist and good friend, Dimitris Souras, through an emotional post on Facebook.

Specifically, Dimitris Souras wrote on his personal Facebook account:

“Epilogue. You finally left. The wind, the wave, the sun took you. I look at my hands. Permission. My eyes wet. Words confused and unintelligible. The look is blank. I didn’t expect it to be so difficult, so sad, so different. The beats got louder. I thought I saw your face on the vast horizon. Did you hear your song? How we miss you!”

Wish of Martha Karagianni was to be cremated and not buried, as was done after overcoming some bureaucratic difficulties. After the civil funeral held at the First Cemetery of Athens on September 22, her body was transferred to Ritsona, where she was cremated. Her relatives then scattered her ashes in the sea.
