The “nails” between mother and daughter, where one tried to throw them at the other to get rid of the burden of the heinous crime, dominated the apologies of the two women who are being tried before the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki for the murder of the 49-year-old former wife of the first and father of the second, in June 2020, in Evosmos, Thessaloniki.
The once inseparable – as it emerged from the evidentiary process – women seem to have separated their united, both pre-investigative and investigative, defensive stance, each now drawing its own line, without, however, saying a single apology for the act attributed to them. .
“She wanted revenge on him, she killed him to inherit him,” said the 19-year-old, “pointing” to her 46-year-old mother as the perpetrator of the murder. Diametrically opposed was the position of the mother, who claimed that her daughter was the one who managed to stab her ex-husband several times in a row, because the victim allegedly raped her repeatedly in the past.
“She had long planned to kill him”
The 19-year-old, imprisoned in the women’s prison of Eleona, Thebes, unable to hold back her tears, denied her earlier allegations of sexual abuse by her father, saying that she said so at her mother’s suggestion. Calling her “she” or “she”, the young girl claimed that the 46-year-old planned to kill the 49-year-old taxi driver either by tying his limbs with a tire up or putting tights on his head at bedtime or “teasing” the car engine to show that he suffered a car accident.
She described her mother as “manipulative”, something that, as she said, she realized was imprisoned, while referring to the scene of the murder she apologized the following: “I woke up to her voices. I heard her say “and in the next life I will kill you again”. He was on the bed with one foot and was cursing him. “I will pull out your teeth and paint you,” he said. I asked her “oh mother what did you do” … “. She said she was remorseful and ashamed that she had to tell about the rape, while accusing her mother of constantly telling her father, calling him a “monster, liar and devil”. However, he admitted that the 46-year-old had been abused by the victim in the past, referring to “fights, insults and beatings”.
“If you are a mother you are with me”
The exact opposite version had previously been described by her co-accused mother. “I slept with my daughter that night. At dawn (June 14) he woke up and started shouting. I asked her what happened and she replied “do you know that my brother’s father is raping me?”. I was shocked. “If you are a mother you are with me,” he said. It was completely tragic for a mother to hear this thing. “When you are gone he rapes me” he continued. He was shaking, he was voting. I took her in my arms and stroked her hair. At that moment he said to me “you are a hen, you were a hen for a lifetime” and left. I followed her. I had to shout but my voice did not come out. It was already late when I entered the room. “I saw her kneeling in bed stabbing him,” said the 46-year-old who is being held temporarily in the Korydallos women’s prison.
In her apology, she hinted that as a teenager she had been the victim of abusive acts by her own father, while she described her 49-year-old ex-husband as violent and because of his behavior she was hosted, as she said, for some time in a hostel for abused women. She added that she got divorced and tried to make a living with another partner (always with her daughter) with whom they had a child, but this relationship ended after a serious adventure she faced (and still faces) with her health. of. Then, at the urging of her son (from the marriage with the 49-year-old), she agreed to return to her ex-husband’s apartment in Evosmos, as she apologized.
The prosecutor’s proposal on Friday
Earlier, during the marathon proof process, witnesses testified that the couple’s relationship has always been problematic, while neither of them heard or was informed about the alleged sexual abuse of the 19-year-old by her father. “If he abused her, it would be noticed. She never bothered her,” said the brother of the young defendant, for whom her grandmother pointed out that she was always “submissive” to her mother.
The trial, which started in the morning and ended late in the afternoon, will continue on Friday with the speech of the prosecutor of the headquarters.
