The young woman claimed she agreed to make the transfer – using her family’s car – because she had an old debt owed to a foreigner.
A young student was arrested accused of illegally transporting immigrants, in the area of Asprovalta, outside of Thessaloniki. She was called to apologize to an investigator and was released on the condition of paying a cash guarantee of 3,000 euros.
The young woman (native) allegedly claimed she agreed to do the transfer – using her family’s car – because she had an old debt owed to a foreigner. “I was afraid because I owed him money and with this transfer it would be set off,” she reportedly said in her apology.
Prosecutor and investigator unanimously decided to release her until the trial, on the only condition that she pay a monetary guarantee.
Police found her in the previous 24 hours driving a car inside which it was found that there were five undocumented Pakistani nationals.
