The bride who hit her mother-in-law with the car is on trial

Accused of causing dangerous bodily harm to her mother-in-law is a 42-year-old woman, a resident of Archangelos, who will sit in the dock of the Three-member Criminal Court of Rhodes on October 21, 2022.

Last June, the 42-year-old ran over her 68-year-old mother-in-law with her car, who was hospitalized at the Rhodes General Hospital with head injuries.

The accused has been estranged from the victim’s 51-year-old son since February 2022, and since then they have been litigating before the courtrooms.

More specifically, as parents of two minor children, a 13-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl, they came to court initially for custody.

The father applied for an injunction alleging that the mother and her entourage are abusing the 13-year-old child and with a temporary order on May 14, 2022 he secured their custody.

The 13-year-old boy was taken to the house of the father, who works and is supported by his mother and her family, while the 6-year-old girl remained with the mother, despite the temporary order.

The mother in the process was sentenced by the Autonomous Single-member Misdemeanor Court in June 2022 to 4 months in prison with 3 years suspended for breaching the temporary order, with the father claiming that he is luring the 6-year-old girl and creating conditions so that she does not want to stay with him.

After the decision of the Criminal Court, the child was transferred and lived with his little brother at the father’s house.

On the afternoon of June 17, 2022, while the father was at work and the 6-year-old was with the grandmother, two children came to the house and asked him to follow them to play in the yard.

The father claims that his estranged wife staged incident and circumstances to prove that the child’s custody was allegedly deficient as the 6-year-old was found by the grandmother who searched for him in his mother’s car, who lives nearby and the who intended at that moment to go with the child to the Archangelos police station to report them.

The 68-year-old tried to stop the car, put her body in front of the car in order to prevent her escape with her minor child and – according to what was reported – the 42-year-old proceeded to start the vehicle, developed speed and carried her away resulting in the severe head injury.

The accused, according to the information, claims that her mother-in-law “threw herself” in front of her.
