One of the main bohemian addresses in downtown São Paulo, Paribar announced the end of its activities at the end of September. With the sudden announcement, many people did not have the chance to say goodbye to the place, which received the last customers on the 26th. But there is a new chance to say goodbye to the place.
The bar, known for hosting different parties over the years, will promote a farewell party, with an edition of Faísca on Sunday, the 9th.
The party has already had other editions at Paribar, the last one taking place on the 18th of last month. In a post on Instagram, after the announcement that Paribar would no longer work, the event thanked the venue for the partnership. “Thank you so much, Paribar, for the opportunity to be part of your trajectory,” he wrote.
The farewell dance is scheduled from 3pm to 10pm, with three DJs, including Garage Disco. Free entry.
Known for its tables in the Dom José Gaspar square, Paribar used to entertain customers and those who passed through the region with afternoon parties. Some became famous, like the Savage.
The bar had been run by Luiz Campiglia for 17 years. The reason for the closure of activities, according to him, was the current violence in the central region of the city.
Opened in 1949 behind the Mário de Andrade Library, the address was once frequented by representatives of the modernist movement, such as Tarsila do Amaral, Oswald de Andrade and Sérgio Milliet.
