These are three 22-year-olds and an 18-year-old, in whose possession, in addition to the weapons and bulletproof vests, a glove and a radio device were also found.

A fatal mistake by the perpetrators seems to have led to a fiasco in the robbery attempt that took place on Wednesday morning, at a mobile phone shop on Monastiriou Street, in Vardari, Thessaloniki.

As it emerged from the police preliminary investigation, the four perpetrators, in their attempt to destroy the security camera that recorded the movements in the shop, caused an electrical fault, as a result of which the security rolls fell and trapped them inside the business.

They had previously invaded the store holding an air gun and knives, while they tied up the employee of Pakistani origin who was inside at the time with a tire up. In order not to raise the employee’s suspicions, they pretended to be policemen, wearing bulletproof vests with police insignia.

Realizing that something strange was happening, the owner of the business who was nearby notified the ‘Immediate Action’ and strong EL.AS forces rushed to the area. who surrounded the store arresting the perpetrators.

They are three Greeks (Roma) and one Albanian, (three 22-year-olds and one 18-year-old), in whose possession, in addition to weapons and bulletproof vests, a glock and a radio device were also found.

A case file was filed against them – among other things – for attempted robbery, defying the Authority, bodily harm, violations of the arms law, with which they are being referred to the prosecutor for criminal prosecution.
