Shock in Achaia: 44-year-old woman found dead inside her home in a “mummified state”

Horror in Achaia. For days, the 44-year-old remained dead in her family home, in the village of Kalanos in the Municipality of Erymanthos. The body, according to exclusive information of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, was found in advanced decay by a resident of the area. He came face to face with the chilling sight when he decided to visit her, as he was worried by the fact that she had not given any sign of life for the last month.

The tragic incident was revealed a few days ago and according to the autopsy carried out at the forensic service of Patras, the body was in a “state of mummification”.

The woman had returned to her place of origin about 5 years ago and was living alone. Her contacts with her fellow villagers and relatives were minimal, while most of the time she chose her solitude. Some even left food outside her door when they found she was in no mood to communicate. The same was the case with the only person close to her, her brother who lives in Patras and visited her often, taking care to bring her food and basic necessities. It was about a “suffering soul who was orphaned by a mother when she was 3 years old. She was a beautiful girl” say residents of “P”, pointing out that the dissolution of her marriage and the loss of her father worsened her psychological condition.

The 44-year-old, according to information, was suffering from severe depression and for this reason she had been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic in the past. On the initiative of a local elected official, an attempt was made to provide her with help with psychologists from the Municipality’s Community Center visiting her, but the 44-year-old refused to meet them. The Erymanthos Police Department is conducting an investigation into the causes and exact circumstances of her death.
