“Warm-up” before Spartak Miyava and a friendly win for Panathinaikos

THE Panathinaikos played another warm-up friendly ahead of the away European premiere on Tuesday 11 October against Spartacus Miyava.

The champions prevailed with 3-0 set of the competitor Kerki Samos in the indoor game of Agios Thomas, with Kovar being the leader for the “clover” with 13 points, while Hernandez and Fragos were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The “greens” will play another away friendly match against Milos on Saturday, October 8, in order to prepare as well as possible before the official games.

As for today’s friendly, the first set was quite competitive with both teams going point by point until 20-19, when PAO suddenly picked up the pace and took the first set 25-23. With the same energy, the athletes of coach Andreopoulos entered the second set and without any difficulty they made it 2-0 (25-16).

The third set was quite similar to the first as neither team could “build” a difference and even though PAO found itself behind with 19-21 it seriously managed to “turn it around” making it 3-0.

1st set: 7-8, 15-16, 21-19, 25-23

2nd set: 8-6, 16-14, 21-15, 25-16

3rd set: 8-6, 16-15, 19-21, 27-25
