Golden Dawn Trial: Nazi salute by Kostas Plevris in the courtroom

by

The occasion was Magda Fyssa’s statement during her testimony: “Is Lagos a political prisoner? The bones of the political prisoners will crack.”

There was tension in the court during her examination Magdas Fyssa which had a confrontation with one of the advocates of Yiannis Lagos, Konstantinos Pleuris, who gave a Nazi salute in the presence of the judges who at that moment were preparing to leave.

The reason for the episode was the statement of Magda Fyssa, who continues to testify, according to which “Is Lagos a political prisoner?” The bones of the political prisoners will crack.”

The scene unfolded as follows:

During the submission of questions by the Civil Procedure on the occasion of an observation by the defense of Roupakias, that the witness received a question regarding the content of the case file, the president said to the advocate of the Fyssa family about the musician’s mother: “An eyewitness is one who he says the same things all the time.” Mrs. Fyssa, after a few minutes, answered the objections on the subject of the questions concerning knowledge from the case file, saying: “Five and a half years of procedure are we getting over it? What did we go through in here?”, a phrase that caused applause from the audience.

The advocate of Yannis Lagos, Konstantinos Plevris, took the floor, saying that abroad there would not be such a gloomy image with applause in a courtroom. “Would you dare give a Nazi salute if you were abroad?” was Ms. Fyssa’s response with the lawyer instead of another response giving a Nazi salute before the chair left the room.

“Aren’t you ashamed fascist? Aren’t you ashamed of so many crimes?’the attendees shouted as the proceedings were briefly interrupted amid anti-Nazi slogans.
