In the reference week, 51,184 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (4,906 per million population: -7% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 23% of infections. The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 5,026,494 of which 52.0% are women.
𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 1.09 (95% CI: 0.87 – 1.15).
The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 1,102 patients (7-month period: 157.3% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounted to 881 patients (7-month period: 126.3 % weekly change).3 The number of intubated patients by the end of the reference week is 62 (58.1% men) with a median age of 70 years and 96.8% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.
In the reference week, 109 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (10 per million population: 24% weekly change) of which 21 (19%) died after at least 29 days from the date of laboratory confirmation of the COVID-19 infection, while from since the start of the epidemic, a total of 33,313 deaths have been recorded, with 96.0% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
