For violation of the environmental protection lawa 47-year-old man was immediately arrested in its area Nea Efkarpia Thessaloniki, while he was uncontrollably dumping excavated soil in a plot of land with his truck.
From the investigation by police officers of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Directorate of Security of Thessaloniki, it emerged that the specific waste came from an excavation for the construction of a building in the same area, which he had to hand over to a legally licensed management-recycling company.
On the same plot there were 4 similar mounds of soil evidently from excavations, which had been formed by recent dumping.
A result of uncontrolled rejections, it was to cause environmental pollutionaesthetic degradation of the area, as well as causing negative effects on its ecological balance.
The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
