The Local Coordinating Body of Civil Protection met on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the City Hall of Nafpaktia under the Mayor Mr. Vassilis Giza, for the optimal coordination of the involved bodies in view of the new wave of bad weather that is expected to hit Nafpaktia as well.
Present at the Meeting were the Deputy Mayor of Environment and Civil Protection Mr. Thomas Kotronias, the Deputy Mayor of Antirrio Mr. Babis Karadimas, the President of DEYAN Mr. Zacharias Hochtoulas, the Mandated Advisor of the Department of Pylis, Mr. Thanasis Christovasilis, the Commander of the Nafpaktos Police Department Mr. Panagiotis Kyritsis. At the same time, in communication with the Deputy Mayors of Platanos, Mr. Thanassis Koukounas, of Apodotia, Mr. Giannis Papaioannidis, of Halkia, Mr. Spyros Trachilis, the President of the Municipal Port Fund, Mr. Spyros Tselios, and the Commander of the Port, Mr. Mr. Gizas called on everyone to be on high alert and to be in constant communication with each other to deal with the problems that may arise.

According to the National Meteorological Service, the new wave of bad weather is expected to occur from the morning hours of Saturday, December 11, 2021, with the main characteristics of locally heavy rains and thunderstorms, as well as snowfall in the northern continents.
For this reason, citizens are urged to be very careful and not to move for no reason. However, if they are going to travel by car, they should be informed about the weather and the condition of the road network, they should have anti-skid chains in their vehicle and the tank full of fuel, they should have informed their relatives about the route they are going to follow. and change their travel schedule to avoid the onslaught of the weather.
