Fire victims of Lesvos: The payment of first aid compensation has been completed

The payment of first aid compensations against housing assistance amounting to 88,936.8 euros to the beneficiaries affected by the fire that broke out on July 23 in the Municipal Community of Vrissa Lesvos was completed yesterday.

According to an announcement by the deputy minister in addition to the prime minister, in charge of State Aid and Rehabilitation from Natural Disasters, Christos Triandopoulos, the amount of 88,936.8 euros was credited to 8 beneficiaries, while in total, 1,326,236.21 euros were allocated to the bank accounts of 159 beneficiaries. which were affected by the summer fires.

Mr. Triandopoulos commented on this: “The payment of first aid against housing assistance to those affected by the fire of July 23 in Vrisa Lesvos has been completed.

In particular, following the publication of the amending Joint Ministerial Decision on the extension of the measure of first aid against housing assistance to property owners affected by the July fires in Megara, Vrisa Lesvos and Krestena Ilia (B’ 4859/14.09. 2022) and the opening of the AADE’s arogi.gov.gr platform for the submission of applications, the Ministry of Finance completed on Wednesday, October 19, the payment of first aid against housing assistance to all eligible victims of the Vrisa fire. Specifically, eight beneficiaries received 88,936.8 euros.

Thus, with the completion of all first aid payments against housing assistance, a total of 1,326,236.21 euros have been credited to the bank accounts of 159 beneficiaries. It is recalled that no first aid applications were submitted either from Megara or from Krestena”.

It is pointed out that the beneficiaries who received first aid in return for housing assistance are required to submit an application and file for the granting of housing assistance for the restoration of the affected building to the competent services of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in accordance with the conditions and within the deadlines of the joint decision of the ministers of Finance, Development and Investments and Infrastructure and Transport regarding the demarcation of the affected area and the granting of housing assistance.
