A criminal organization that systematically committed burglaries and burglaries in various parts of Greece was dismantled

10 members were arrested, while 59 cases of theft were investigated with the property benefit exceeding 330,000 euros

Among other things, a large number of jewelry, 28 watches, the amount of 41,114 euros, 7 cars were confiscated. cars, 35 cell phones and a blue lighthouse.

A criminal organization that systematically committed burglaries and thefts of houses in Attica and the Region was dismantled by the Security Sub-Directorate of West Attica in collaboration with the Security Department of Megara.

They were arrested, in the context of a large operation, which took place in the morning hours of 10-12-2021 in Elefsina, Mandra and Aspropyrgos, by police officers of the above Services and the assistance of police officers of EKAM, OPKE. , Immediate Action (DI.AS Team) and the Directorate of Police Operations, nine (9) locals, aged 19 to 40 years and 45 years old foreigner, members of the organization. (5) additional members of the organization have been identified and are wanted.

A case was filed against them – for the offenses on a case-by-case basis – of the criminal organization, of the distinguished cases of theft, money laundering, violation of principle and violation of the legislation on personal data, while the case also involved a police officer, who is accused. for breach of privacy.

The operation was preceded by many months of investigation by the Department of Security of Megara and the Security Sub-Directorate of West Attica, which led to the revelation of the criminal activity of the above, at least from July this year and the identification of their details.

In terms of how they acted, the members of the spiral targeted homes, for which they gathered information about the habits of the tenants and the existence of valuables.

The houses were “hit” by groups with a different composition each time, consisting of at least (4) members with predetermined roles, which, however, were in constant communication with the use of “business” telephone connections.

The action of the groups took place mainly at noon or in the evening and their goal was exclusively jewelry of value and money.

For their travels they used a number of cars, which were constantly renewed to avoid their location.

The role of “tsiliadoros” was usually played by women and their mission was to check if the tenants were absent and then to supervise the area in order to inform the “boukadoros” in case of unexpected arrival of the victim or the Police.

The natural perpetrators (boukadoroi) entered the house in the most appropriate way each time (window-door violation, unsecured entrance), while to avoid identification they used jockeys, masks and gloves.

The driver of the escape vehicle was on constant alert, outside the house, in order to ensure their immediate removal.

In addition, the spiral, in order to give legitimacy to its illegal income, set up businesses (operational and virtual), while part of the income was invested in new business activities.

During searches of homes and businesses in Elefsina, Mandra and Aspropyrgos, the following were found and confiscated:

• multitude of jewelry
• the amount of -41,114- euros
• 7- Ι.Χ.Ε. cars
• 35- mobile phones
• blue lighthouse

From the investigation so far, -59- burglaries-thefts in houses were investigated in various areas of Attica, Viotia, Chalkida, Lamia, Agrinio, Preveza, Achaia and Chalkida.

The financial benefit obtained by the organization, from the above criminal activity, exceeds -330,000- euros.

The arrested were brought before the Athens Public Prosecutor.
