The Attica taxi drivers’ union decided to hold a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, while calling for a protest rally at the SATA offices.
As stated in the relevant announcement:
“All agenda items were discussed and the following were decided:
1. Authorization to the bureau to immediately request financial support measures to deal with the increase in fuel, the price hikes in living products and items that affect the cost of operating the taxi. Specifically, direct financial aid of 300 euros per vehicle/month for as long as the energy crisis lasts. Reduction of VAT from 0.7 euros/liter to 0.5 euros/liter and reduction of the VAT rate from 13% to 6%.
2. Authorization to the bureau to claim the improvement of the passenger transport legislation and the abolition of any provision that directly or indirectly allows E.I.X to carry out urban transport which belongs to E.D.X Taxis.
3. Carrying out a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 and a protest rally at the SATA offices (Marni 17)
4. Authorization to the presidency to request a one-year extension to car replacement for those cars that have not received any extension to date and expire on 12-31-2022. A one-year extension should also be given to those expiring up to 12-31-2023.
