What the ministerial decision provides for the “household basket”

The ministerial decision is expected to be issued within the next few hours “household basket” to implement the relevant amendment passed by the Parliament. According to information from APE-MPE, the ministerial decision is expected to be issued as soon as the relevant amendment is published in the Government Gazette.

Among the products included in the basket are: bread loaf (standard/packaged), toast, paris, fresh or evaporated milk, Greek instant or French coffee, margarines, feta cheese, tea and shampoo or dog and cat food.

The ministerial decision states the following:

WE DECIDE

defining the categories of products included in the “household basket”, defining the frequency of sending the list of products by the debtors, defining the competent control authority, defining the procedure for collecting fines and the specific issues for the implementation of the article… .. of Law …../2022 (A’ …..), as follows:

‘Article 1

Product categories included in the “household basket”

The debtors of par. 1 of the article …. of Law …../2022 send to the Ministry of Development and Investments a list of consumer products (“household basket”) that are necessary for a decent living and in particular at least one product from each product category included in the “household basket”. The categories of products included in the “household basket” are listed in the following Table:

Frequency of sending the product catalog by the debtors

The debtors of par. 1 of the article …. of Law …../2022 send to the Ministry of Development and Investments a list of consumer products on a weekly basis, every Wednesday until 9:00 a.m. The sending of the list of products for businesses that are obliged to send data to the electronic platform e -katanalotis, pursuant to the provisions of article 57 of Law 4796/2021 (A’ 63), takes place through the e-katanalotis platform. For other companies, the catalogs are sent via a list sent to the email address [email protected].

Article 3

Competent control authority

Competent authority for the control of the application of the article …. of Law …../2022 defines the Directorate of Data Management, Statistics and Electronic Commerce Supervision of the Interagency Market Control Unit (D.M.E.A.). The sanctions of par. 5 of article … of law ……/2022, are imposed by decision of the Governor of DIMEA.

Article 4

Judicial protection

The decision to impose a fine may be appealed before the administrative courts, within the deadline of par. 1 of article 66 of Law 2717/1999 (A’97) “Code of Administrative Procedure”.

Article 5

Collection of fines

The imposed sanctions are collected in accordance with the Public Revenue Collection Code (K.E.D.E.) and attributed to the state budget (KAE 1560989001).

Article 6

Start of force

The validity of the present starts from its publication in the Government Gazette.
