Double Christmas Bonus with Heating Allowance and Accuracy Check – Who’s Beneficiary

A large number of citizens will receive a double Christmas bonus in December, with the punctuality check (2.3 million citizens), but also the heating allowance (1.3 million citizens).

The two benefits are expected to be credited to the accounts of beneficiaries before Christmas and will provide a breath of liquidity to vulnerable households at an extremely difficult time.

The total cost to the state budget of the two interventions (heating allowance and accuracy check) amounts to approximately 750 million euros.

According to the existing programming for the heating allowance, the beneficiaries are approximately 1.3 million households. Those who received it last year will see money in their accounts around December 10, while new beneficiaries will be paid by the end of the year.

At the same time, 2.3 million citizens will receive a one-time financial aid of 250 euros.

Beneficiaries are:

• 1 million pensioners, compared to 634,000 in April, with a monthly income of up to 800 euros, compared to 600 euros in April.

• 35,000 uninsured senior citizens of OPECA.

• 172,000 disabled benefit beneficiaries.

At the same time, it will be given to:

• 225,000 beneficiaries of the minimum guaranteed income, double installment in December and

• 800,000 OPECA child benefit beneficiaries will see an extra monthly payment of one and a half.

The total cost for the above amounts to 496 million euros.

Heating benefit

The joint ministerial decision (CMD) will finally be issued next week, according to which the terms and conditions for granting the heating allowance will be determined.

The total amount that will be made available amounts to 500 million euros, together with the subsidy of 25 cents per liter at the pump, a measure that will initially apply until the end of the year, without excluding, if conditions require it to be extended.

Beneficiaries of the allowance this year are approximately 1.3 million households, while last year it was slightly less than 900 thousand, and this is because assets have expanded, while the basis for the asset criterion will also increase, due to the increase in objective values. The highest amount a household can receive is 800 euros, up from 750 euros last year, and the lowest is 100 euros, the same as last year.

Let’s see the criteria that will apply for this year:

1. The income limit is 16,000 euros for a single person.

2. To 24,000 euros for the married person, an amount increased by 3,000 euros for each protected child.

3. The property criteria, the possibility increases to 200,000 euros objective value for the unmarried, while it will remain at 300,000 euros real estate value for the married.

However, in the event that someone wants to receive twice the amount, then the criterion is 14,000 euros for the unmarried and 20,000 euros for the married.

The first installment, which will concern the old beneficiaries, will be granted around December 10 and after the submission of the relevant application to myheating until the end of November.

This will be followed by the payment of the new beneficiaries who will apply by December 15 and the payment will be made at the end of the same month.
