An episodic police operation to evacuate the “Dougrou” occupation in Larissa took place early Monday morning.

The property where the particular occupation has been housed for 6 years is the property of the Larissa Municipal Nursing Home, which has been appealing to the courts for almost a year.

Strong police forces cordoned off the scene, with the police attempting to enter the site, pouring water with a pressure washer into the building and the “occupiers” responding by throwing objects from bottles to… chairs and tables and shouting slogans.

A small group of people who shouted anti-police slogans also gathered at the spot, while tension arose for a moment.

The operation ended with the entry of the police and the arrest of a total of 8 people, six men and two women, who were outside the occupied building.

The image on Javela Street after the end of the evacuation operation is heartbreaking while the place resembles a dump.
