Thessaloniki: Alarm for a “fugitive” with fake handcuffs

The mobilization of the Police was caused by a call from a citizen who thought he had “captured” a fugitive. The incident took place on Tuesday night in Thessaloniki.

According to information from thestival.gr, a citizen called 100 and said that he is across the street from the Papanikolaou hospital and is holding a person whose hands are tied with handcuffs.

An alarm was immediately raised and strong police forces rushed to the scene. By the time the Police arrived at the scene, the handcuffed person managed to escape and disappeared.

Police officers of the DI.AS team. they began looking for him in the narrows around where he was last seen. They spotted him in an alley and stopped him as they believed they had a fugitive on their hands.

He proved that he did not break out of some prison and that the handcuffs he was wearing were fake. After identifying his details, the police released him.
