A ring of Greekization of foreigners in Rhodes was dismantled – Greek women married illegal immigrants for a fee

A lawyer from Rhodes, is in the crosshairs of the competent police and prosecutorial authorities, as after a months-long investigation by the police authorities, circuit activity detected which Greekized illegal aliens in Rhodes, entering into cohabitation contracts with women who live on the island.

In the case which, according to information from “Rodiaka”, starts from 2019 until today, is involved and a lawyer from Rhodes who seems to have been the connecting link between the members of the ring.

From the data so far 6 cases were solvedwhile it appears that the amounts paid were in the order of 2,000 to 3,000 euros for these virtual marriages.

The majority of foreigners involved were Egyptians who worked as fishermen in our area.

According to the police, a case was filed against those involved for jointly attempting to obtain a false attestation by extension, attempted fraud and violation of the Immigration Code

The Security Sub-Directorate of Rhodes established, as part of a thorough police investigation, the activity of a ring that, for a fee, entered into virtual cohabitation agreements between foreign men and Greek women in order to ensure the granting of residence permits to the foreigners

For this case, in which it has been ascertained the involvement of fifteen people, a criminal case was filed for the joint attempt to obtain a false certificate by extension, attempted fraud and violation of the Immigration Code.

In particular, as it emerged, the ring initially identified foreigners who did not meet the necessary conditions for legal residence in our country or were not entitled to renew their residence permit, and at the same time approached Greek women whom they convinced to enter into virtual cohabitation contracts.

Subsequently, they attempted to issuance of a residence permit for foreigners as spouses of Greek citizens, extracting large sums of money.

Since the investigation of the case, a total of six cases have been discovered in which the perpetrators attempted to issue residence permits with supporting documents containing virtual cohabitation contracts.

The case file that was formed was submitted today (Tuesday, November 1, 2022) to the District Court of Rhodes.
