The 56-year-old resisted and took out a knife, injuring the police officer in the eye, cheek and eyebrow.

A police officer is in a state of shock and was admitted attack during an arrest yesterday in Kissamos of Chania.

According to information from cretapost, the incident started when the police officers of A.T. Kissamos received a lawsuit for threat and damage to foreign property against a 56-year-old Cretan, and began the operation to locate and arrest the perpetrator in the context of the autoforo.

The 56-year-old resisted and took out a knife, injuring the 54-year-old police officer in the eye, cheek and eyebrow.

The 54-year-old police officer was taken to the Kissamos Health Center for first aid as his injuries were superficial.

The perpetrator was arrested on charges of violence against officials and judicial persons, for dangerous bodily harm as well as on charges of weapons legislation, while he is expected to appear before the Prosecutor of Chania within the day.
