“Partners in crime”: The 38-year-old and 39-year-old woman who “ransacked” shops in Attica were arrested

Last night, the 38-year-old broke into a milk shop in Agios Panteleimonas and took a sum of money at gunpoint. Then he escaped in a car, in which his 39-year-old accomplice was waiting for him.

A 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested, as part of the spontaneous procedure, on Saturday, November 5, in Kypseli, by police officers of the Property Crimes Prosecution Department of the Attica Security Directorate, accused of robberies in supermarkets, postal service stores, gas stations and dairies in various regions of Attica.

In particular, according to ELAS, last night, the 38-year-old broke into a dairy shop in Agios Panteleimon and took a sum of money at gunpoint.

Immediately after, he escaped in a car, in which his 39-year-old accomplice was waiting for him.

Police officers carrying out investigations located the vehicle in the area of ​​Kypseli, immobilized it and arrested the two alleged perpetrators. In their possession were found and confiscated the amount of money they had previously taken from the milk shop, an air pistol with a magazine and metal bullets, as well as clothes that were found to have been used in the commission of the robberies.

As it emerged from the preliminary investigation, the action of the two arrested started from the beginning of August 2022.

They had acquired the necessary weaponry and a variety of items to conceal their characteristics, such as helmets, hoods, hats and face masks, in order to make their identification difficult.

As for their method of action, the 38-year-old first invaded the store they had targeted and immobilized employees and any customers at gunpoint.

Next was the 39-year-old woman, who, at the threat of a knife, removed sums of money from the cash registers. They then escaped on motorcycles, which they had stolen earlier.

From the preliminary investigation by ELAS, five more robberies and an attempted robbery were discovered in shops in Neo Kosmos, Kypseli, Nea Smyrni and Agios Panteleimonas, as well as two motorcycle thefts.

It is noted that the 38-year-old has been accused in the past of murder, violation of the law on weapons, drugs, as well as dangerous bodily harm, while the 39-year-old woman has been charged with violation of the law on drugs. The two arrested were taken to the Athens Criminal Prosecutor.
