A mother and her daughter were trapped in the car they were traveling in after a traffic accident on the old Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos highway
A serious traffic accident occurred in Crete on Monday morning shortly after 9 am on the old national road of Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos, at the height of Mount Kako.
Two women, a mother and a daughter, were trapped inside the car they were riding in, which for an as yet unknown reason veered off course and crashed into rocks and overturned.
The rescue of the two women required the intervention of the Fire Department, while EKAV ambulances rushed to the scene.
Injured #released 2 women from an EIX car as a result of its overturning and were handed over to EKAV, in Palaia E.O. Heraklion – Agios Nikolaos, at the height of Mount Kako of Crete. They attempted 10 #firefighters with 3 vehicles.

One woman was slightly more seriously injured, while both were taken to the hospital.
The slippery road surface due to the rain seems to have played an important role in causing the accident.
