The Iron Brothers participated in Iron Man Athens in a unique example of inclusion in sport and society.
Their presence was a reference point of the first Iron Man in Athens with the 2 brothers who participated in the race held in Vouliagmeni, on October 23, to be a distinct example of empowering and supporting people with disabilities in sport and society.
THE Pedro and Miguel Pinto they are two brothers who love sports. The 32-year-old Pedro suffers from cerebral palsy which is due to childbirth complications. With his brother Miguel, who has a great passion for sports, they decided, almost spontaneously, four years ago to take part for the first time in Ironman, an extremely demanding long-distance and endurance race involving swimming, cycling and running.
Having already participated in 30 such matches, including that of the European Championship Iron Man in Hamburg, in which they were the first “special” team to successfully complete the race, they decided to take part in the first Iron Man of Athens, which took place in Vouliagmeni on October 23 (1.9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21 km run).
Their presence, naturally, was applauded by the audience and athletes alike and was a unique example of acceptance, equality, empowerment and support for people with disabilities in sport and society.
