The First Investigator in charge of cases of European economic interest was appointed by a unanimous decision of the Plenary Session of the Athens Court of First Instance, the first instance judge Christina Salappa.

The judicial officer, who also serves as a regular investigator at the Athens Court of First Instance, was nominated for the position of European Affairs Investigator (according to Law 4786/2021 and EU Regulation 2017/1939), by Head of the Criminal Department of the Athens Court of First Instance, President of the Court of First Instance Georgia Stamatis and received a vote of confidence from her colleagues.

Ms. Salappa has many years of experience in handling criminal cases. In the past she has served as an investigator in regional Courts of First Instance, while later by decision of the then head of the Athens Court of First Instance Spyros Georgouleas he was appointed Assistant Anti-Corruption Investigator with a regular investigator in Athens Costas Sargiotis. , some of them with international extensions. The new “European Investigator” has a postgraduate degree in Criminal Law and speaks three foreign languages ​​(English, French and Italian).
