Municipality of Athens: Financing program for the upgrade of the facades of the buildings

An important program is launched by the Municipality of Athens in collaboration with “ANAPLASI ATHENS SA” which concerns the financing of the aesthetic upgrade of the facades of the private buildings of Athens. In the program “FACADE”, as it is called and presented at today’s meeting of the Municipal Council, all private buildings within the Municipality of Athens have the opportunity to participate. The initial budget of the grant program is 1,500,000 euros. According to the managing director of “ANAPLASI ATHENS SA”, Polychroni Akritidis, who made the relevant information, the maximum amount of subsidy is set at 6,000 euros per building while for listed buildings the maximum amount of subsidy is set at 7,200 euros per building.

The submission of the applications and all the relevant procedures are done by an engineer, chosen by the beneficiary, through the electronic services of the TEE with absolute transparency and control. Also, the engineer selected by the beneficiary does not simply carry out the process but monitors the implementation of the interventions, ensures the obtaining of the necessary permits and approvals and certifies quantitatively and qualitatively the work performed in order to pay the grant. In case the beneficiary chooses engineer registered in the Register of Building Inspectors, his fee is subsidized in the amount of 400 euros. The goals of the project are to create a new urban landscape through the renovation of the facades of the buildings, to enhance the security of the buildings, to increase their value, to highlight the building wealth and the protection of the built environment, upgrading the image of the city in the center. and its neighborhoods. Also the activation of the market and the mobilization of private capital.
