Three of the 11 arrested for the abduction of the high school principal were remanded in custody

by

The investigator and the prosecutor “showed” the way to the prison to three of the eleven accused for the kidnapping of the director of the Gymnasium of Aigini, Pieria. The remaining eight were released on parole and, where appropriate, on bail. All three detainees are men, one 66 years old and two 41 years old.

The marathon apology process began at 9.30am on Monday morning and ended around 7.00pm. A long conference of investigators and prosecutors followed, with the consent of which their criminal treatment was notified, around 11 pm.

The eleven defendants, members of the self-proclaimed group “Guardians of the Constitution”, began to be transferred from Monday morning, in groups, to the investigator Katerini, in order to give explanations for the unprecedented incident last Friday, when they handcuffed the director. while he was approaching the school and they forcibly took him to the nearby police station where they were finally arrested.

In their apologies, it seems that they denied the acts attributed to them, which they characterized as “false and fabricated”, and they disagreed with the criminal prosecution of the joint abduction, with which everyone is charged, emphasizing that there was neither planning nor execution of the act, from the moment – as they said – they took the victim to the police station.

According to information, they claimed that their intention was to protest against the sanitary measures taken against the spread of the coronavirus in the educational community and the apology of the accused retired EL.AS officer (who was finally released on parole) was typical. to speak of a “benevolent peaceful initiative” which, however, “had an unexpected development”.

“Evolution” for which some on the one hand seem to have appeared remorseful, in their apparent attempt to receive more favorable criminal treatment, but on the other hand blamed the director for his “reaction” when he realized their presence.

Regarding their relationship with the self-proclaimed group “Guardians of the Constitution”, information states that they denied it.

The restrictive conditions imposed on those released include the following: Appearing twice a month at their local police station, being barred from leaving the country and being barred from approaching any school unit across the territory less than 500 meters away. In addition, two defendants, a man and a woman, were fined 2,000 euros.

It is recalled that all eleven, nine men and two women, in addition to being abducted together, are being prosecuted for gang offenses, disorderly conduct and breach of measures to prevent infectious diseases. Where appropriate, they are prosecuted – in addition – for simple bodily harm, breach of personal data and dissemination of false news (all to a degree of misdemeanor).
