Brazil completes ten days with an average of deaths by Covid below 200

by

Brazil recorded 39 deaths by Covid, this Monday (13), and completed ten days in a row with moving averages of deaths below 200 per day.

The death data for the day is also the lowest since April 3 of last year, a Friday, the date on which 38 deaths were recorded. The low record, however, is due to the lack of data on deaths and cases in nine states, including SĂ£o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Mato Grosso do Sul, ParaĂba, ParanĂ¡, RondĂ´nia, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Tocantins complete the list of absences.

The Ministry of Health was the target of a cyber attack last week, which has affected pandemic data in recent days.

It is also worth pointing out that, on Sundays, Mondays and holidays, the numbers of the pandemic are lower, due to notification delays at the health secretariats.

In this second, the average of cases also reached the lowest value since May 5, 2020, when it was 6,063.

Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between leaf, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
