bwin Team Future: Triple success at “Athens International Sailing Week”

by

The sails are up and triple success at the Panhellenic Sailing Championship for bwin athletes, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Byron Kokkalanis and Alexandros Kalpogiannakis.

With bwin on their side, the three athletes found themselves on the winners’ podium. One Gold, one Silver and one Bronze Medal was the result at the “Athens International Sailing Week” for the sailors of the leading betting brand.

Dimitris Papadimitriou for the second consecutive year finished first in the Laser category (llca 7). In fact, his impressive race made him the first member of the national team in the Olympic category, for next year’s games, one of which is the first qualification for the 2024 Olympics.

“The championship is an even greater challenge, physically and psychologically,” he emphasizes, and with bwin at his side he is charting a course for the Olympics in Paris.

In the men’s iQFOiL the 6 boats competed in 10 races. In this category, Byron Kokkalanis took the Silver Medal, while Alexandros Kalpogiannakis finished behind him. Thus the two places on the podium were won by bwin athletes!

Through the Team Future program: Supporting the New Generation of Olympians, Byron Kokkalanis, as a mentor to the youngest athletes of the program, is vying for a place on yet another Olympic team, despite the fact that not much time has passed since he left Windsurfing for iQFOiL, essentially changing the race category. A significant success for the 2018 Youth Olympic gold medalist, Alexandros Kalpogiannakis, who does not stop developing and continues his hard work for the top. After all, his big goal remains an Olympic Medal.

For the last four years, bwin has been an ally of all three athletes in the pursuit of their dream, actively supporting them every step of the way, in every race.
