What a DIAS police officer testified at the Golden Dawn trial

Pavlos Fyssas lifted the blouse and showed me the wound. “He stabbed me,” she told me», testified to the Five-member Court of Criminal Appeals o DIAS police officer who saw Giorgos Roupakias “arguing” with the musician.

With licenses almost all the positions of the defendants, present today was only one defendant, continued today the appellate trial for the criminal action attributed to Golden Dawn.

On the witness stand was found policeman Christos Deligiannis, who he was in the group of eight DIAS police officers who were ordered to go to Keratsini on the night of Pavlos Fyssa’s murder.

As he testified, they were signaled to go to the Coralli cafeteria because “there were 50 people dressed in black, with bats.”

When they arrived at the scene, as the police officer testified, they saw a group of 20 to 30 people who were dressed in black. There someone who claimed to be a policeman told the leader of his group that “some anarchists had an argument with gold diggers” and “okay that’s the end of the matter.”

The witness testified that he went to the gathered group and asked them to disperse, but “nobody paid attention to me”.

Mr. Deligiannis testified that when the group of people dressed in black started running, he followed them with his colleague on foot.

As he said, at 62 Panagi Tsaldari Street “we saw a crowd gathered.” There was a disturbance. I saw Pavlos Fyssa and Roupakias arguing.

Behind Roupakias were 4-5 people. I’m going to clap. We took out the globes. I went to arrest one behind Rupakias. Then they all broke up.

Roupakias went to leave to his car. Fyssas tried to attack him and I rushed to stop him. Fyssas then lifted the blouse and shows me the wound – he says “Not me! (he meant to stop). He stabbed me”. The colleague came and saw the knife that Roupakias had thrown near the car. We have advised that we have the possible assailant who did the stabbing».

Earlier in court, Immediate Action police officer Konstantinos Kotsovos testified, who, as he said, when he arrived at the scene with the patrol car, “the stabbing had already taken place and someone had been arrested.” According to the witness, at the scene they saw “Pavlos Fyssas lying down and his girlfriend holding him”.

The witness was asked a lot of questions as to the order they received and whether the Center reported a clash involving gold miners or a fan. The policeman said that he understood that the fight was of a group type because of the football match that had preceded it.
