He is called to apologize for the deaths of Malena and Iris

A new deadline for her apology is expected to be requested from the Investigator, Roula Pispirigou, who has been called to account today for the deaths of her two youngest daughters.

The 34-year-old temporarily detained for the murder of her first-born daughter, Georgina, intends to ask the 35th Regular Investigator to give her a new deadline for her apology, as her lawyer will be outside Athens. This will be requested by the judicial officer extra time which will be used by the defense of the 34-year-old to prepare her counterargument to the evidence that brought Roula Pispirigou to justice for the deaths of her younger daughters.

The 34-year-old, already accused of homicide and attempted homicide against Georgina, is considered responsible for the murder of Malena, 3.5 years old, on April 13, 2019, while the little girl had undergone successful treatment for “cervical lymphadenitis of the right jaw” as well as her just six months old Iris on March 21, 2021.

Pispirigou was transferred from the prisons on October 25 to the investigative office and received from the Investigator a deadline for today. The 34-year-old is facing a charge of first-degree murder in a calm state of mind. The judicial authorities consider that the two youngest children of the Daskalaki family resulted from criminal actions of their mother who is already awaiting the determination of her trial in the case of Georgina which ended in January 2022.

According to Alexis Kougia, the 34-year-old’s lawyer, the entire criminal case against his principal is “an unprecedented miscarriage of justiceh” which is largely due to wrong assessments by medical examiners. The defense of Roulas Pispirigou has stated that it will come to the Inquest questioning the evidence of the investigation by medical examiners Nikos Karakoukis and Nikos Kalogreas who, following an order they received from the Prosecutor’s Office, searched the files of two children and drew up a report according to which the deaths of Malena and Iris were caused by external factors and not attributable to pre-existing pathological causes. The defendant’s side seems to have at its disposal other scientific positions and explanations for the issues raised authorities.
