Today is International Student Day all over the world and in Greece this date is special, since it coincides with the anniversary of the student demonstrations against the military junta of the “black colonels” in 1973. Students of the Polytechnic in protest against the regime, which entrenched himself in the walls of the university, and in the early hours of November 17, the country’s government ordered tanks to attack the university. Around 3:00 A.M. on November 17, AMX 30 broke through the university’s main gate. 24 people were killed as a result of the clashes… Unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself…’.
