Ukrainian singer Ruslana, the winner of Eurovision in 2004 for a charity concert in favor of Ukraine, is in Athens. However, the well-known singer was today at the Polytechnic to commemorate the anniversary and leave a flower at the monument, in honor of the students who gave their lives for freedom.

In fact, posting on her personal Instagram account some photos from the day, along with a relevant comment:

“In Athens, they laid flowers near the monument, in honor of the students of the Polytechnic who gave their lives for freedom and democratic values. Today is International Student Day all over the world and in Greece this date is special, since it coincides with the anniversary of the student demonstrations against the military junta of the “black colonels” in 1973. Students of the Polytechnic in protest against the regime, which entrenched himself in the walls of the university, and in the early hours of November 17, the country’s government ordered tanks to attack the university. Around 3:00 A.M. on November 17, AMX 30 broke through the university’s main gate. 24 people were killed as a result of the clashes… Unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself…’.
