US envoy John Kerry diagnosed with Covid-19 at COP27

The US special envoy for climate issues, John Kerry, who is at the COP27 (United Nations climate conference), received a positive result for Covid-19 this Friday (18).

According to the US State Department, Kerry has mild symptoms and continues to work remotely in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Government representative Joe Biden had a meeting on Tuesday (15) with Xie Zhenhua, special envoy for the climate of China, and the president-elect of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). It was on the occasion that the PT member told the representatives of both countries, in separate meetings, that mediator Brazil is back.

“He is fully vaccinated, boosted and has mild symptoms. He is working on negotiations with his team and foreign correspondents over the phone to ensure a successful outcome at COP27,” said Whitney Smith, US State Department spokeswoman in a statement. USA, according to information from Reuters.
