The aid of 50,000 euros given by the Ministry of Finance to the “Ark of the World” is a one-off and not regular form.

According to ministry officials, the aid was granted as part of the support of organizations from the special Covid account, where donations were collected. As the same actors point out, the procedures for revoking the granting decision are now underway.

Earlier today, Saturday, the Ministry of Finance, by the decision of Christos Staikouras, announced that it is withdrawing the financial support to the “Ark of the World”, after the shocking allegations of sexual abuse in the structure of minors.

The Minister of Finance, speaking to Mega said that “The allegations are shocking things and need to be investigated. As a Ministry we have recently strengthened many of these structures to ultimately empower children. Yesterday, by my own decision, the Ministry is taking back the aid until the case is finalised. We need to know where this money is going.”
