Thessaloniki: 3-year suspended prison sentence for 41-year-old – He convinced a minor to send him erotic photos

3 years imprisonment, with a three-year suspension, the Mixed Court of Appeal of Thessaloniki imposed on a man, 41 years old, who possessed erotic photos of a 14-year-old, whom he had met online. He was found guilty of possession of child pornography material, via the internet, with the recognition of two mitigating factors – a previous honest life and sincere remorse.

According to the case file, it all started in the summer of 2011, when the accused met the 14-year-old (then) high school student, on a popular social networking site. The acquaintance evolved into personal communication, either by text or by phone. According to the same case file, two months after the start of their conversations, the 41-year-old demanded from the minor to send him photos in which she was depicted naked and in specific poses. She was convinced and sent him pictures.

The tangle of the case began to unravel, when a year later, the minor she sneaked out of her house in Etoloakarnania to meet him in Thessaloniki. However, as she had the wrong address, the little girl wandered for two 24 hours in the city, until her father contacted the accused and they searched for her in the city until they found her.

“He introduced himself to me as a 25-year-old,” testified – among others – the patient, (25 years old today), in court. He, in his apology, stated that he did not know her real age, considering that she was an older girl. He apologized, that today he lives and works in Germany.

At first instance he was sentenced to 5 years in prison, while he was released pending the Court of Appeal.
