The Ark of the World had a turnover of more than 30 million euros in the last five years, according to the first findings of the financial police, who make “leaves and feathers” of the finances of the structure, while the turnover from donations they reached 6 million a year. At the same time, the investigation continues regarding abusive behavior by employees of the structures towards current and former inmates, while new complaints about sexual abuse are coming to the surface.
Specifically, the investigations of the Economic Police are expected to check all the branches of the Ark of the World throughout Greece, “dusting” the accounts of former members of the economic council as well as employees in order to determine whether other persons had access to the funds. In addition, it is expected that the bank accounts of father Antonios, the elder and other relatives will be opened soon to check the inflows and outflows of money as well as their recipients.
At the same time, the authorities are investigating whether there was mismanagement of the finances, while requests have also been sent to the banks to open the bank accounts and to check if there are virtual money flows.
Already, since the beginning of the week, the thorough investigation of the Financial Police officers has been underway in the structure of the Ark in Kolonos, while all the others will take their turn, such as those of Chios, Kalamata, Pogoniani.
In addition, an investigation is being carried out to determine whether the structures had a license to operate as there are reports that the Kalamata and Pogogiani structures were not licensed.
Attack on the structure of Chios
Specifically, this morning, a team of police officers from the island’s security sub-directorate went to the facility in Aipos, Chios, after receiving information that documents were disappearing.
An emergency check was immediately carried out where the police collected files with financial data of the structure which were transferred to Athens.
The elder woman emptied the box
At the same time, another strange movement was recorded by the elder who, according to SKAI, was the one who emptied the safe at a bank branch. The bank vault with the unknown content that was removed 48 hours ago and was allegedly opened in the name of the World Ark.

And a third complaint of possible sexual abuse
And while the financial police continue the checks, the statements of witnesses, educators, volunteers, former and current employees continue with a new, the third, case of possible sexual abuse of a minor child by the Ark of the World being scrutinized by the Juvenile prosecutors.
The case, which concerns a minor alleged victim, appears to have arisen from the testimony of a former worker in a Kivotos structure and has already activated the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office to cross-examine the complaint and identify and convince the child for whom it was specified to come to justice report.
The two juvenile prosecutors have taken statements from several witnesses, about 12, gathering every piece of evidence that can be used to unlock their next moves to quickly investigate the NGO case. However, most complaints confirm child abuse.
Today, Thursday, the door of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office was visited in order to testify two former workers as educators in the structures of the organization, at the same time that the two prosecutors were informed by people from Father Antonio’s environment that the head of the NGO for many years is at the disposal of the Justice .
Food complaints about beatings and punishments are increasing
Complaints about abusive behavior are “raining down”.
“I, because I did not sit sober and because I was afraid of the dark, they put me in a warehouse with no light until I calmed down. All the reasons are because we weren’t listening to them. The cuffs and slaps they sometimes gave us. A pedagogue went to a friend of mine and he had a black eye,” says a former Kivotos inmate to SKAI.
At the same time, a former employee from the Volos structure complains that educators who have abused children remain in the structure. “Right now they are trying to convince the children to say good things about Father Antonio. They remembered now months later to put two kids with the families and say they are fine and having a good time. And next to them in one was PN who is accused of being a member of the board of directors who beat the children. And next to the other, A.I. And they had the children take their brothers to say that everything is fine. Those who are prosecuted continue to be inside the structures. This climate of fear among children still exists.”
Speaking to SKAI, a relative of a former inmate revealed that he filed a complaint about abusive behavior seven years ago.
“Whether through phone calls or visits, they wouldn’t let us see the child. I had already brought clothes from the countryside. The social worker looked at me with some disdain and at some point she turns around and says “if you have any homes to write to us, fine”” she concludes.
