According to the preliminary investigation material, the seven arrested are among the 483 migrants who were on board the fishing boat that had sailed from the coast of Libya bound for Italy.

According to the preliminary investigation material, the seven arrested are among the 483 immigrants (336 men, 10 women, 128 minor boys, 9 minor girls) who were on board the fishing boat that had sailed from the coast of Libya bound for Italy.

The arrested persons were in command of the fishing vessel, approximately 25 meters long, during the illegal transport, holding distinct roles in terms of the various actions-works on the vessel, which, due to the excessive number of passengers and the lack of life-saving equipment, was unsuitable for sailing.
