“As of today, the tender for the new 25-year concession contract for the Attica Road has entered its second phase,” said Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis
The reduction of the toll to 2.5 euros from the current 2.80 is set as a condition by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in the tender for the new 25-year Concession of the Attica Road, as stated by the minister Kostas Karamanlis.
The minister stated specifically: “From today the tender for the new 25-year concession contract Attica Road entered its second phase. Following the final decision of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the binding offers of the interested parties must be submitted taking into account a toll of 2.50 euros per crossing, while based on the current contract, which expires in October 2024, a toll of 2.80 euros is foreseen. The Government’s decision to reduce the tolls of the Attica Road in the new contract is not only part of the broader effort to address the cost of living, but also closes a cycle of baseless opinions about tiered tolls, without a transportation study.”
