Initial estimates indicate that the fire probably started from a cooking utensil.
In the Attica Hospital the five-year-old boy who was found unconscious on Sunday night in a 2nd floor apartment in Kolonos on Alkyonis Street is being intubated.
His two brothers, aged 8 and 12, together with their parents managed to get out of the apartment shortly before the fire brigade arrived, however they were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The full cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Service, with initial estimates indicating that the fire likely started from cookware.
The fire was immediately brought under control and 15 firefighters with 5 vehicles responded to the scene.
An unconscious minor was pulled out, while 2 more minors were freed during firefighting in an apartment on Alkyonis Street in Athens & were taken by EKAV ambulances. The fire was immediately brought under partial control & 15 firefighters with 5 vehicles are working.
