The crews of the Municipality of Thessaloniki are working intensively on the decoration of the city and the lighting of the Christmas tree in Aristotelous Square, which will held on Wednesday, December 7, at 7 pmby the mayor, Konstantinos Zervas.
Countless low-energy lanterns, a Christmas market that will host plenty of activities, trees and mangers in every neighborhood will make up the festive scene in Thessaloniki at Christmas this year.
A festive scene has begun to take shape in the square and on the axis of Aristotelous. The central tree that adorns the square traveled from Taxiarchis of Halkidiki, it is 18 meters high and is illuminated with approximately 50,000 LED lamps.
The axis of Aristotle up to the height of Philippou will be illuminated with a moving light show, while the decoration is completed by the approximately 250 fir trees that have been placed from the beach to the Ancient Agora square.
A stage will be set up in Aristotelous Square which will host his concert on December 7 popular singer Petros Iakovides and which will remain for thirty days, as part of the festive scene, hosting actions and events throughout the holidays.
At the same time, preparations continue for the Christmas market, which will operate in the Ancient Agora square, near the statue of Venizelos. 39 wooden houses will be erected, while Santa’s houses, elves and children’s activities are expected to be the attraction for children.
Each neighborhood of the city will have its own central tree, a large manger, the traditional Christmas boat and other decorations.
