The police arrested a foreigner who was stealing bags from unsuspecting women, one of whom was fatally injured, as announced by the Ministry of Public Order.
The attacker was riding a motorcycle and grabbing women’s bags. On November 10, the foreigner with the motorcycle grabbed the bag of an elderly woman, who fell to the ground and was fatally injured.
The robber was located in Ilioupoli, after an arrest warrant had been issued against him, for theft. He was subsequently identified in two other cases of robbery, one of which was of the elderly woman who lost her life.

The Southeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate investigated 2 cases of robberies with the grabbing of a bag, at the expense of elderly local women, in Ilioupoli and Dafni, Attica, resulting in the death of one woman and the serious injury of the other.
A foreigner was identified for the cases, who, in the evening hours of December 2, 2022, was arrested in Ilioupoli, Attica, by police officers of the DI.AS team. of South-East Attica as he had a 15-month prison sentence pending against him, for theft.
In addition, his involvement in the theft of a motorcycle, which was used to commit the one robbery, was also identified.
In particular, regarding the timing of the cases, in the evening hours of November 10, 2022 in Ilioupoli, Attica, the perpetrator, riding a motorcycle, grabbed the bag of an elderly pedestrian. As a result of the pull, the patient fell to the ground, resulting in a severe head injury, from which, two days later, her death occurred in a hospital where she was being treated.
In addition, in the evening hours of November 27-28, 2022, he removed a motorcycle from the area of Ilioupoli, which he then, in the morning hours of November 28, 2022, used to commit another robbery with the grabbing of a bag at the expense of a similarly pedestrian elderly woman, from which he was provoked her severe injury (fractured humerus and hip injury).
The motorcycle was found abandoned in the area of Ilioupoli, by police officers of the DI.AS Team. Southeastern Attica and attributed to its owner.
In a search carried out at a home and business, the clothing used by the arrested person during the robberies, 53 narcotic tablets, 2 electronic scales and a mobile phone were found and confiscated.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
