The police made three arrests for the case of transporting narcotics in Thessaloniki, involving two men aged 51 and 59 and a 57-year-old municipal councilor in a municipality of the Kastoria Regional Unit.
On Saturday morning, the police found a car, with a 59-year-old driver and a 57-year-old passenger, in Lachanokipi, Kastoria. A check carried out revealed that they were carrying together three duffel bags and two sacks containing 58 improvised packages of raw cannabis, total gross weight 66 kg and 160 grams.
Subsequently, the police investigation revealed that, recipient of drugs, was the 51-year-old, where after a police operation he was located on Saturday afternoon in Thessaloniki and arrested. During a search, 0.5 grams of cocaine was found in his possession and confiscated.
In an investigation carried out on Sunday at noon by the police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Kastoria Security Sub-Directorate, the Cross-Border Crime Suppression Team, the Mesopotamia Border Guard Department and the Pylaia-Hortiatis Security Department, in “kavaza apartment”as characterized by ELAS, which was kept by the 51-year-old, in Pylaia, in eastern Thessaloniki, 10 improvised packages of raw cannabis, with a total gross weight of 11 kg and 380 grams, 2 nylon bags with raw cannabis, with a total gross weight of 852 grams, were found and confiscated , 0.84 grams of cocaine, 4 precision scales, a grater with cannabis residue and 5 tablets, the chemical composition of which is being investigated.
In total, from the two actions of ELAS, the following were found and confiscated:
- 58 improvised packages of raw cannabis, with a total gross weight of 78 kilograms and 392 grams,
- 1.34 grams of cocaine,
- 4 precision scales,
- 2 I.X.E. cars,
- 5 mobile phones,
- 7 SIM cards,
- 1 grater with hemp residues and
- 5 tablets, the chemical composition of which is being investigated.
A criminal case was filed against the arrested for trafficking a large amount of narcotics.
The Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Kastoria Security Sub-Directorate initiated a preliminary investigation into the case, while those arrested with criminal charges against them will be brought to the Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Kastoria.
