In a public electronic consultation, the Minister of Health, Thanos Pleuris, presented the Ministry’s draft law “Integrated Palliative Care Provision System – Arrangements for dealing with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the protection of public health and other provisions” in a public electronic consultation. .
The draft law provides for the conditional and if there is vaccination, the retroactive cancellation of fines to citizens over 60 years of age.
In this context, every social partner and every interested party is invited to participate in the public consultation, submitting their proposals for any improvement of the provisions of the above legislation. The consultation will last until Tuesday 13 December 2022 (8am).
The purpose of the draft law, according to the Ministry of Health, is to ensure and improve the quality of life of patients suffering from a life-threatening disease or a chronic progressive disease, by creating and defining the institutional framework for the operation of an integrated system of provision palliative care, which, combined with the other existing structures of the National Health System, will focus and serve the specialized needs of these patients and their families,
Also, dealing with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and protecting public health, by extending the necessary regulations, in view of the onset of the winter season which is associated with an increase in the effects of the pandemic and
Finally, with the new draft law, urgent issues of competence of the Ministry of Health are regulated for the benefit of society as a whole, which are indicatively related to the control of the amount of pharmaceutical expenditure of the E.O.P.Y.Y. in relation to the way of disposing of High Cost Medicines (HIC), to the unhindered supply of the market with the necessary pharmaceutical products, to the recognition at the level of compensation of the innovation and originality of Greek pharmaceuticals, to the facilitation of staffing of mobile health teams (K.OM.Y.) and in, under conditions and if vaccination follows, the revocation of fines for unvaccinated citizens over 60 years of age.
