The march started from Kamara – Students, members of parties of the extra-parliamentary left and the wider anti-authoritarian space are participating
The commemorative march in the center of Thessaloniki for the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos by a police officer in Exarchia, on December 6, 2008, started a few minutes ago.
According to thestival.gr, the march started from Kamara and will move through central streets of Thessaloniki. Students, members of parties of the extra-parliamentary left and the wider anti-authoritarian space participate in the march.
Protesters shout slogans against the police and the state.
As every year on such a day, this year too, a strong police force is “on foot” in the center of Thessaloniki, for fear of incidents with people from the anti-authoritarian space.
Today’s march takes place under the shadow of the bloody pursuit in western Thessaloniki, which took place early yesterday morning, when a police officer shot a 16-year-old Roma man in the head.
A march is also underway in Athens which started from the Propylaia in the direction of the Parliament as well as Volos.
