War scene throughout the night in the co-capital
With Molotov cocktails, barricades, fires and stone warfare they continued for the second night in western Thessaloniki, the protests by Roma groups over the serious injury of the 16-year-old by police fire.
Sustained tension was noted in the building of the Economic Police Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece, in Menemeni, where from 10 in the evening and at intervals until the early hours of the morning, there were attacks against police officers, sometimes with improvised Molotov cocktails and sometimes with stones and various other objects. They were set up in the area barricade with trash cans that were consigned to the flames.
A second focus of tension It took place at midnight on Lagada Street, after the Stavroupoli footbridge. At this point, the protestors blocked the roadway for two hours in both traffic streams, setting fire to trash cans, while throwing objects at the police who were called to the scene.
The police forces in both of the above cases they responded by throwing chemicals in the attacks they received, while the assistance of the Fire Department was needed to extinguish burning garbage bins.
