A group of gypsies attacked police officers of Group Z who tried to arrest people who were throwing stones at police officers
Serious incidents occurred at dawn in Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki. A group of gypsies attacked police officers of Group Z who tried to arrest people who were throwing stones at police officers. The episode took place at 12:40, on Lagada Street, 200 meters after the Stavroupoli flyover.
Before midnight, gypsy families living in the Anthokipi area set up barricades on both sides of Lagada Street, stopping traffic. In this way, they wanted to express their protest for the serious injury of the 16-year-old Roma by a police officer of the DIAS group.
A group of five Roma minors moved away from where the protestors were and attacked patrol cars on the Stavroupoli flyover. At that moment bikers of group Z were ordered to intervene to arrest the minors.
The juveniles ran towards the barricade to escape arrest. The protesting gypsies, seeing the movement of the police, attacked them to prevent the arrest of the gypsy children. The group of two-wheelers received a shower of stones and marbles.
